BIO5120 Environmental omics 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
With the development of omics using genomes of the living organims, the recent studies based on omics is a breakthrough in several biological aspects. Based on the knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and multidisciplinary areas, I will teach the latest research findings including the convergence of organisms-focused environmental biology and omics (e.g. genomics, proteomics, metabolimcs, etc.). This course will be taught in combination of lectures and seminars, based on the genomics, proteomics, and metabolimcs with emphasis on the impact of emerging environmental stressors.
BIO5121 Advanced Topics in Neuroscience 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Korean Yes
Neuroscience is the field of study aiming to understand the biological and physical basis of the mental processes and behaviors from the levels of molecules, cells, and systems. This lecture provides the potential neuroscience researchers with elementary knowledge and methodology by reviewing the important papers ranging from classical to latest neuroscientific accomplishments. Especially, how the neural circuits, composed of the wiring of neurons, perform their function will be emphasized. Completion of undergraduate brain science course is recommended but not required.

BIO5124 Evolution of nervous systems 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Yes
Animal nervous systems, which control the physiology and behavior of each species to best fit its environment, are not only complex but also diverse. To unveil the origin of nervous system diversity, it is crucial to address a fascinating but challenging question - ‘how does a new nervous system evolve?’ This course aims to understand the molecular, genetic, developmental, and neural mechanisms of nervous system evolution.
BIO5125 Advances in Plant Sciences 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 English Yes
The goal of this course is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the structure, physiology, growth, and development of plants. This course also offers an introduction to the recent advances and cutting-edge techniques used across the diverse research areas in plant science.
CBA3003 Trends in next-generation bio-health industry 3 6 Major Bachelor 3-4 Core-Bio A-School Track Korean Yes
This course aims to provide learning about the latest fields in the bio-health industry including biopharmaceuticals, biomarkers, GMP production, AI, precision medicine. In particular, it introduces the core technical knowledge in the field of bio-pharmaceuticals such as recombinant gene drugs, cell culture pharmaceuticals, cell/gene therapies, artificial organ, and educates on industry trends by bio-health industry experts, followed by individual or group discussions.

CHS7005 Consumer Neuroscience 3 6 Major Bachelor/Master/Doctor Challenge Semester - No
A new market and consumer research methodology, consumer neuroscience method, will be explored in this class. Understanding consumers’ brain responses to brand using eyetracker and functional near infraredspectroscopy experiments is a goal of this study. Eyetracking and fNIRS will provide a new means of measuring brand equity as consumers’ brain responses will reflect their attitude, engagement, and and loyalty.
CHY2002 Organic Chemistry Ⅰ 3 6 Major Bachelor 2-3 Chemistry Korean Yes
A systematic introduciton to the carbon compounds. Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ethers, halides, carbonyls, reaction mechanisms and stereochemistry.
COV7002 Academic Writing and Research Ethics 2 2 4 Major Master/Doctor SKKU Institute for Convergence Korean Yes
This course is designed to help nonnative graduate students improve their ability to write for academic purposes in English. It covers topics essential to improve academic writing, from finding a topic for a research paper and avoiding plagiarism to constructing a research proposal and a research paper, producing abstracts and steps for publishing in journals. Possible assignments include analyzing published research papers from their own chosen fields and constructing their own research proposal and research paper.
ERP4001 Creative Group Study 3 6 Major Bachelor/Master - No
This course cultivates and supports research partnerships between our undergraduates and faculty. It offers the chance to work on cutting edge research—whether you join established research projects or pursue your own ideas. Undergraduates participate in each phase of standard research activity: developing research plans, writing proposals, conducting research, analyzing data and presenting research results in oral and written form. Projects can last for an entire semester, and many continue for a year or more. SKKU students use their CGS(Creative Group Study) experiences to become familiar with the faculty, learn about potential majors, and investigate areas of interest. They gain practical skills and knowledge they eventually apply to careers after graduation or as graduate students.
