- Winning 290 Mil. KRW for ACE (Advancement of College Education) Project SKKU has won the bid for the 2014 ACE(Advancement of College Education) Project. The ACE Project was initiated in the year of 2010 by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education with a purpose of encouraging colleges to strengthen undergraduate education. SKKU was one of the first group ACE universities in 2010 and successfully won the program again in 2014 which is the second phrase continuing until 2017 for four years. - Physics Won [University for Creative Korea] Program
- Physics Won University for CK (Creative Korea) Program The initiative of the Department of Physics has won the bid for the CK (University for Creative Korea) Program. The Next-Generation Physician Leader Project Group of the department, led by the chair professor Rhee Joo-yull, presented a proposal for it in April and exhibited the final presentation in June for the competition. For CK-2 Sector, which is for the Universities around Seoul metropolitan area, 205 project groups of thirty two institutions, had submitted a bid, while only 48 groups have been eventually selected to be subsidized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation. The CK Project is a massive government-led educational financial subsidy program, and for SKKU, six project groups out of seven applications have successfully won the bid which is the largest number in Seoul Metropolitan Area. The total amount aid that the University will be granted is 4 billion KRW, or 3.9 million USD.

- This is a short cover story on Professor Lee Young-hee at the Department of Physics, who is an world-eminent researcher in the field of studies on semiconductor nanotube, transparent electrode, and graphene. - New English Website Announcement
- The new website has opened to the public as of June 16, 2014 after several months of designing the user-friendly array of contents and updating the outdated information. It was early 2014 when the plan for renovating the English website of the College of Science was introduced and put in place. Throughout the rigorous and comprehensive works of establishing an online communication channel properly and contemporarily organized, the College has eventually completed the job. This project has been carried out along with another renovation plan for the online space in Korean language, which was completed a couple of months ago. Visitors can search through various and useful information on the page, from the overview of the College and its programs to the current faculty’s profile and the research area of each. The revamped online page will play a role as an electronic platform where the College is able to interact not only with international scholars and researchers, but also with the attending SKKU students by providing the resources that they need in a timely manner.
