Physics Won University for CK (Creative Korea) Program
The initiative of the Department of Physics has won the bid for the CK (University for Creative Korea) Program. The Next-Generation Physician Leader Project Group of the department, led by the chair professor Rhee Joo-yull, presented a proposal for it in April and exhibited the final presentation in June for the competition.
For CK-2 Sector, which is for the Universities around Seoul metropolitan area, 205 project groups of thirty two institutions, had submitted a bid, while only 48 groups have been eventually selected to be subsidized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation.
The CK Project is a massive government-led educational financial subsidy program, and for SKKU, six project groups out of seven applications have successfully won the bid which is the largest number in Seoul Metropolitan Area. The total amount aid that the University will be granted is 4 billion KRW, or 3.9 million USD.
