University of Edinburgh visited Department of Chemistry, College of Science

Professor Eleanor Campbell, a chair of School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, UK, visited the Department of Chemistry in College of Science on April 18. Professor Campbell took a tour of the major facilities and laboratories of the Department of Chemistry. She visited the labs of Professor Lee Jinyong, Professor Lee Hyoyoung, Professor Kwon Younguk, Professor Song Chang-sik and Professor Paeng Keewook.
Following the lab tours, a faculty meeting was held with Chemistry professor Kwon Younguk, professor Lee Hyoyoung, professor Song Changsik, professor Paeng Keewook, and professor Huh Joonsuk. Meeting was held for about one hour, various exchanges such as academic and student exchanges between the two departments were discussed.
After a tour of the facility on the Natural Sciences campus of SKKU, Professor Campbell held a meeting with chemistry undergraduates who applied for the University of Edinburgh Summer Lab Internship program.
Students have had the opportunity to freely ask questions about the campus life and residential environment, as well as laboratory internships and future graduate study.
Meanwhile, the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science is in the process of signing an exchange agreement with the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. College of Science dispatched chemistry undergraduate students through our summer internship program in the summer of 2016, and the same program is under way this year. The two universities are planning to explore specific ways to make substantial exchanges.
