Sang-gu Lee, Chairman of the Korean Society of Mathematical Education, said
“I will do my best in mathematics education during the 4th industrial revolution era.”
Sungkyunkwan University Professor Sang-gu Lee (Sungkyunkwan University Mathematics Department) was elected as the next president of the Korean Society of Mathematical Education (President Oh-nam Kwon). The new president will be inaugurated on October 9 with a term of two years.
He graduated from Sungkyunkwan University in 1981 and obtained his MSc and doctoral degree from the Utah State University in the United States. In 1992, he was appointed professor of mathematics at Sungkyunkwan University.
The Korean Society for Mathematical Education was founded in 1962 and Professor Han-sik Park was the first chairman of the nation's mathematics and mathematics education professors. Currently, it has 1451 full members, 201 lifelong members, and 104 institutional members.
The new chairman said, "We will do our utmost to lead the collective intelligence of the members so that students can study math easily and enjoyably. It is also the task and goal of the society to make mathematical education system suitable for the fourth industrial revolution era."
