Prof. Young-hee LEE research team, Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics, Institute for Basic Science at Sungkyunkwan University, solving the two-dimensional substance heterogeneous synthesis problem through collaborative research
[Edaily reporter Young-ho LEE] A Korean research team has developed a new method to synthesize a hexagonal boron nitride·hBN, 2 dimensional material composed with heterogeneous elements, into a single crystal first in the world.
Ministry of Science and ICT(MSIT) said that Dr. Soo-min KIM (Korea Institute of Science and Technology), Prof. Young-hee LEE (Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics, Institute for Basic Science at Sungkyunkwan University), and Prof. Ki-gang KIM(Dongguk University) developed a technology to synthesize two-dimensional substances called a hexagonal boron nitride·hBN into a single crystal.
Hexagonal boron nitride·hBN is hexagonal atomic structure such as graphene and a material that has a platy structure a composed of boron and nitrogen instead of carbon.
The research results were published on November 16th in the international journal Science.
